Our Review of Zygor’s Leveling Guide
*Update: Horde and Alliance Dailies and Cataclysm leveling guide is all set, reviewed, and rates out as ‘holy crap.’ Cataclysm has been a blast. Hope you are enjoying it as much as I have.
Well, if you are new to World of Warcraft you may not have heard of Zygor’s Guide yet. If you are not new, then you probably have but may not be sure what all the fuss is about. I know I wasn’t and I’ve been playing since launch. (sadly sold my beta key, how little did I know back then heh).
WoW has made some of the grinding and leveling a bit more tolerable with each successive expansion, but it can still take quite awhile and grinding can become incredibly boring regardless of what class you are playing. With Cataclysm just on the horizon I decided I wanted to get a few of my other characters leveled up and reviewing the various leveling guides seemed like a fun way to go about doing it.
I thought I should maybe wait for Cataclysm, but Zygor offers lifetime updates and upgrades, so I didn’t have to concern myself with anything about that. And of course there is a free trial, too.
So, after leveling several characters with a number of guides (which have all been reviewed as well) Zygor’s leveling guide came out as the clear winner in Time, Ease of use, and most importantly to me fun. No grinding was involved whatsoever. It was all questing, and good fun quests as well… didn’t hurt that it was the quickest either.
Here are some of the highlights of the guide:
First and possibly most important for many is that fact that the guide comes with a free trial. You can read more here on that
Next, the user interface is both good looking (not that it really matter, plus you can turn the effects off if you want – it does come with four different skins if that happens to matter to you heh) and efficient and effective (obviously the much more important part).
The GUI tracks where you are in each quest and directs you where to go next. The most important part is that you will not waste time with boring and inefficient quests like other guides and add ons often have.
You can see what I am talking about in these images:
Guides for all Classes:
With Zygor’s guide it doesn’t matter what class you wish to level. The guide covers them all. Many guides are catered to power leveling hunters and similar classes. With Zygor you can still level easily and quickly as a Priest, Druid, Shaman, Paladin, Rogue or whatever your heart desires
A talent adviser is also included with the guide which recommends what talents you should get at each level for each class so that the leveling process can go as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
Daily and Event Guide:
With dailies being a great source of gold and events happening every month you will want to be able to get the most possible out of them. Not everyone has time to do all their dailies every day, well not unless you know which ones to do and the quickest ways to do them. This can save you a lot of time each day and help you quickly save up a lot of gold for whatever you are eying on that auction house.
Extra Goodies:
Another pretty awesome thing about Zygor’s guide is all the extra goodies you get with it. Here are some of them.
- Lifetime free updates and upgrades with quick releases after patches/expansions.
- Dual-spec guides to show you the most effective specs for each class.
- Nether Drake Guide to show you how to quickly earn that beautiful old Nether Drake
- Inscription guide – I know someone who made over 100,000 gold after the 4.0 patch due to the glyph changes.
- Auction Guide will show you the most effective way to make money using Auctioneer – many make 5-10k a day off it.
- Food and Drink guide to show you what each food and drink will do to or for you. The more the merrier, right?
Well, I think that pretty much sums it up. Clearly I like this guide a lot… maybe too much heh – either way. Give it a try if you like, I certainly was not disappointed. Free trials are always a great thing, so you will know pretty quickly if it is something you want or not anyhow.
Check out the free trial here… oh and if you care about that sort of thing the guide comes with Alliance Leveling Guides as well…
